Maldives flag career to expand on destinations

The Maldives national flag carrier airline Maldivian has announced it is planning to travel to more international destinations in South Asia and Middle East.

The additional destinations Maldivian will be serving include Dubai, Dhaka, Mumbai and Madras. According to a report from the Television Maldives (TVM), the airline will secure a Boeing 737 jet that will serve the new routes.

The Maldivian announced that only the airline’s senior pilots would fly the aircraft.

Maldivian currently flies to two international destinations. Trivandrum, India and Colombo, Sri Lanka. The airline is also looking to expand its local destinations, and is in talks with airport developers at Baa Dharavandhoo.

Island Aviation, wholly owned company of the Maldives government is the operator Maldivian fleet of aircrafts. Island Aviation was incorporated following the insolvency of Air Maldives.
